The Real Rexy

"Rexy" in the lobby from Night at the Museum. The Museum wrapped up our whirlwind tour of New York City in January 2008. It was Rachel's turn to follow in her older brothers footsteps of a Dad and daughter trip to New York. We flew into Islip on a Wednesday, and took the train to Manhattan. Our hotel was steps from Times Square and Central park. The first afternoon, we explored Times Square, ate at Mars, and saw the play Mary Poppins on Brodaway. The next day, the weather was glorious, and we took the ferry to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. That afternoon we saw the movie, Alvin and the Chimpmunks. The last day, we saw the Empire State Building, and the Museum of Natural History. It was a fun, busy and exciting trip which was enjoyed by Rachel and Dad immensely!!

Atop the Empire State Building

We visited the top of the Empire State Building, despite the limited visibility

A Happy NYC tourist

Rachel's favorite souvenir, as she waits for the subway. We made alot of trips on the NYC subway as we travelled from attraction to attraction.

Liberty Island

We enjoyed a beautiful day in NYC, and a great ferry ride out to Liberty Island to view the Statue of Liberty. Rachel really enjoyed running around the pedestal.

Mars 2112

In keeping with her brothers visits before her, Rachel also took the space launch which ended at the restaurant, Mars 2112. Here she gets a hug from Capt. Orion, on our evening which culminated at the Broadway production of Mary Poppins.

Visit to Toys R Us, Times Square

In keeping with the tradition set by her two brothers, Rachel and dad visited the largest Toys R
Us in the world. Here is a ride on the indoor ferris wheel

Times Square

One of our first stops on the New York City was Times Square. We visited the largest Toys R Us in the world, and searched for the entry point the characters of the movie, Enchanted ,entered our world from. Rachel located the manhole cover in question.
