Home from France

11/13/2018

Today was the last day in France, thereby completing Bernie's boondoggle, and wrapping up a great week of travel with some true Navy buds.  We woke up in the Melia hotel, not very rested, since there was an open courtyard with some loud folks and an open window.  Mike Brandenburg finally yelled out of his window at about midnight to knock it off.

We had a great breakfast in the hotel, buffet style with a nice omelette also.  The Delta guys had all left, and were trying for a flight which was an added section to JFK.  I was taking a cab/van to the Charles DeGaulle airport with the United guys, and I had a Delta flight.

The Paris traffic was as miserable as the day before with crazy driving stunts.

Securtiy was a breeze as I was in uniform as usual.  I passed through the crew lane, and commenced sitting in the airport for another 5 hours, and then had my 10 hour flight to ATL.  Even with Mobile Passport, the customs line was a mess, but I got the SWA flight home, a bit late, arriving home at 1 am after being in the travel mode for 24 hours.

An interesting side note on the DL guys.  Their extra section was routed to Milan first, and even though they all got first class, it made for a long travel day for them as well.
The last supper in Paris with our group.
