Montana trip with my Navy bros

Before and after photos of our whitewater kayak trip down the Clark Fork.  It was an 11 mile trip with mostly Class II rapids, but there were 4 Class III chutes.
Sully and Pletch on the trail
Pletch mid ride definitely on the trail
After the ascent up Mount Sentinel, in the backdrop is the beautiful town of Missoula
On the turn to Spring Gulch, a great day of mountain biking in the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area
Beautiful Montana views from the trail in the Wilderness area
OK, so there's a standing wave in Montana with a real Missoula Surf Club.  Guys surfed this everyday we were there.  Too cool
My dear friends from the Navy who adventured in Montana for 3 days, of hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.

Me and my KP bros!!

Had a great month of layovers, with the added bonus of hanging with some buds.  In Islip, I had a prearranged dinner planned with Capt. Movan, and to my surprise, Eric Alber, and his rock star son, William showed up.
The next week, I was in PVD, and rented a car to meet Kinger, and go to see the Boss at Fenway.  It was a most incredible show.  Bruce still has it, and is able to connect with each and every fan of the thousands in attendance.  He makes you feel like you are watching him at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.  The beauty of his performance is that he is TRULY enjoying himself on stage, and that stoke is transmitted to every specatator.  What a show, even better with a dear friend.

Easton family reunion

This is the family portrait from the quarry park where the party was held.  Lots of swimming and  family fellowship ensued.
William, Rachel, Samantha, and Dylan following a joyous baptismal celebration at an inner city Catholic church, DC.
A new generation of barflys about to enter Dutch's. The third generation enters..............................
A family shot in the College Hill Tavern.  Wowing the local crowd, who thought, "who are those old people over there?"

Lake Frank hike

So, the month of July progressed as thus, Canal Zone Reunion for Rebecca, Lake Winnie for all others, to be met by Rebecca later that weekend, immediately followed by Boy Scout Camp for the boys.  Throughout these excursions, I happened to fit in some work.  The following weekend, Rebecca and Rachel traveled to D.C for William Knight's baptism.  That Saturday, I picked up the boys from Boy Scout camp at midnight, and we were leaving for the airport at 0430 Sunday morning..................The family spent a week in the D.C area from which this photo was taken.  This is my old stomping grounds.  It does not end here...............

I managed some more work into the schedule, while the family drove up to Easton, PA.  I met them up there the following weekend for Rebecca's (Burns) family reunion.  After this trip, I decided to head off to work for the rest of the month, seeking relaxation, while Rebecca hauled the kids to Indiana for a mini Zonian girl's reunion.  After this month, the boys said they would not enjoy another month like this one.

Much Happier!!!!

The happy campers RETURN from Scout camp..............Camp Daniel Boone complete!!
