MTB 10/7/19

October 7, 2019

Nothing short of a stellar day.  Our hotel last night was the Desert Garden Inn in St. George UT.  Up this morning for a gratis breakfast, and then met the guides from Western Spirit, Tim and Matt.  Matt was our guide from a previous ride at Gooseberry Mesa.  A lot of introductions from the other riders, Thor, Chuck, and Mary.  All good riders.

We transported out to Santa Clara river Reserve For the ride, and rode Sidewinder, Barrel Roll.   Some instruction given for riding some technical. About 12 miles ridden today.  Q and Sully always bombing in the lead, while Mac, Tom and I are about front 1/3 and seem to energize each other.

Reflection on riding.Especially technical.  I have to be mindful and in the moment or else I will crash.  But it is a really good feeling to exhibit that level of focus, and not be all monkey minded.

Great times around the campfire as Tom plays us tunes, and we dine on the yummy Western Spirit meals.  Really happy being around my dear friends for decades.  It is just so darned cool.  Good tent weather tonight, its supposed to be in the 20s in a few days.  I already borrowed a sleeping bag from WS.
